We use machine learning, signal processing, and pretty much any other technique that helps us make sense of vast amounts of client data. We're building the heart of the Formulate analytics engine and cooperate closely with the product team.
Meet Felix

Why did you choose to become a Data Scientist?
I have a background in statistics, so data science felt like quite a natural next step (Felix has a PhD in Mathematical Statistics from Stockholm university).
I really like the fact that it gives you a powerful toolbox for tackling real-world problems. To use data and this toolbox to predict what will happen in the world is something I find exciting.
It's also why Formulate is a great fit for me. We get a ton of great data from retailers that we can use to really help them optimise and plan their promotions.
How does Data Science differ at Formulate compared with other companies?
In many companies, data science is a support function; here it is the product! And being part of developing that product is incredibly rewarding. You see the impact of what you do in a much more profound way.
And because data science is to a large extent the product here, I get to work in a bigger team with varied expertise and specialisms. This has been one of the biggest benefits. I learn a lot every day!
